The East Jaintia National Council, in a letter sent to Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, has urged the government to allow parents to pay only half the school fees of their children given the Covid-19 pandemic that has adversely affected their livelihood.
The EJNC also opined that online classes have not worked out for students in rural areas, as the mobile phone network is less than satisfactory in these areas.
