Nongpoh, Dec 21: Hundreds of people gathered on the highway today to collect fish that had spilled onto the road after a pickup truck overturned on National Highway 6 in Ri-Bhoi.
The incident occurred at around 1:30pm at 19th Mile while the pickup (ML 10D 2739) was travelling from Shillong towards Guwahati.
The identity of the driver could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report. However, it is known that he escaped unhurt.
The incident led to a temporary traffic disruption as hundreds of people rushed to the spot to collect the fish that had fallen onto the road.
