Editor,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the ongoing issue of LPG shortage in India, which has become a persistent problem for common households.
Despite repeated assurances from the government and oil companies, the supply of LPG cylinders continues to be irregular and insufficient in many areas. As a result, consumers are left with no option but to purchase cylinders at inflated prices from delivery agents or middlemen.
It is alarming that people are being forced to pay as much as Rs 4000 per cylinder in the black market, which is far beyond the regulated price.
This situation not only puts an unfair financial burden on ordinary citizens but also encourages corruption and malpractice within the distribution system. The lack of strict monitoring and accountability has allowed such exploitation to flourish unchecked.
I urge the concerned authorities to take immediate and effective measures to ensure a steady and transparent supply of LPG cylinders.
Strict action must be taken against those involved in black marketing, and a proper grievance redressal mechanism should be established for affected consumers.
I hope this issue will receive the urgent attention it deserves and that necessary steps will be taken to bring relief to the public.
Jubel D’Cruz,
