The Anti Narcotic Task Force today arrested one George Diengdoh and recovered 39.75 gm heroin from him.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger, today said that ANTF swung into action based on an intelligence tip-off that a suspect by the nickname Breezy was proceeding from Byrnihat to buy drugs.
However, the suspect managed to evade the police as he could not be identified.
Nongtnger informed that the ANTF then managed to locate him somewhere in the Mawlai Umshing area.
Accordingly, the Rangbah Shnong of Umshing was contacted and the suspect’s location was zeroed upon.
Nongtnger said that search was conducted and the suspect George Diengdoh (23) was found with three soap boxes containing heroin, the net weight being 39.75 gm.
The accused has been arrested and a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him.
