Editor,
Anyone travelling between Shillong towards Jowai and further towards Ratacherra will either have to take an Iodex pain killer or a pillow along as a companion because the very highway that should be a breeze resembles like we are living in the 18th Century not in 21st Century.
The DCs of Jowai and Khliehriat even the PWD officials who travel along the road seem to care a damn and have not taken cognizance of what the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has categorically stated for the upkeep of national highways leave alone internal roads. The contractor who took over the job seems to have made all the honey and left the pathetic road to nature.
What an irony if the State PWD Minister would be made to travel everyday on this stretch. I fear he might also have to take a pain reliever along with him as much as other commuters who travel often.
