Vehicle owners whose vehicles have been requisite for election duty for 36-Mawkyrwat and 35-Ranikor Constituencies have expressed dissatisfaction with the compensation rates fixed by the district authorities.
According to the owners, Bitnam Nongsiej and Iengskhem Syiemlieh the office had fixed rates per day for vehicles and POL as per mileage.
For mini bus (20-40 seating capacity) the rate fixed is Rs 1,856, Rs 1,970 for city bus, line bus and bazaar bus, tourist taxi at Rs 928, local taxi Rs 874, maxi taxi Rs 1,310, maruti 800 and others Rs 710, truck with 9MT and above Rs 1,856, truck with 3MT upto 5 MT Rs 1,420 and truck with 3MT Rs 1,365.
Vehicle owners today held a meeting to discuss on the rates and said that the deputy commissioner has to clarify on the rates otherwise they will not be willing to release their vehicles.
