Shillong, Jul 29: Individuals who knowingly permit the use of their premises or vehicles for drug trafficking or related activities are liable to be punished under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Superintendent of Police Giri Prasad in a statement on Tuesday said the punishment for such individuals will be as per Section 25 of the NDPS, which is the same as that of drug trafficking.
All house and vehicle owners are urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or the State ANTF immediately.
“If there is a suspicion that a rented house or vehicle is being used for drug trafficking or related activities, owners are advised to report the matter promptly,” the SP said.
The State ANTF can be contacted at 8787808749 and informants’ details will be kept confidential, he added.
