Any vehicles that carry loads in excess of the permissible load specified for its category will be liable to pay fees applicable to the next higher category of vehicles, the Project Director of the National Highways Authority of India informed today.
“The driver, owner or person in charge shall be liable to pay fee for entering the overloaded vehicle on the National Highway to the toll collecting agency, equal to 10 times of the fee applicable to such category of mechanical vehicles under relevant rules,” a press release said.
