Shillong, Aug 30: The State government has resolved more than 61 per cent of cases through the CM CONNECT, officials said.
The initiative was designed to bridge the gap between citizens and the administration by providing a single-window platform for accessing government services, lodging grievances, and obtaining real-time assistance.
Since its inception in 2024, the program has achieved remarkable milestones wherein more than 38,000 citizens were assisted in over 15,000 interactions, the CMO office said.
Informing that over 4,000 grievances were registered the statement said immediate resolutions were provided during public interaction events through department collaboration.
Buoyed by the achievement, the government today inaugurated the State’s first CM CONNECT Centre in Tura.
“The CM CONNECT is not just a government program, it is an idea that the Chief Minister must connect with the people, and create a mindset where political leaders, government officials need to engage with the citizens to solve their problems,” Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said inaugurating the centre.
He announced the setting up of such centres in all 56 blocks of the state for citizens to access any service without having to visit any deputy commissioner offices. He cited the example of Andhra Pradesh Mee-Seva Kendra, where citizens can visit any nearby centre and get service delivered at the doorstep.
“This initiative will greatly help citizens in getting services with less effort and save time and money,” he added.
The inauguration ceremony featured a live demonstration of the centre’s services, showcasing its user-friendly interface and digital tools, including online grievance redressal and access to key welfare schemes.
The centre aims to streamline service delivery, promote government programs, improve administrative transparency, and empower residents of Tura and surrounding areas.
