A two-day orientation programme for higher secondary students was organised by the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Umswai in West Karbi Anglong district, which concluded on July 6.
The resource person Bisharlang Pyngrope of the Meghalaya Convenor of All India Education Forum (AIEF) guided students on Goal Setting, Study Habit, Time Management and Students of the 21st Century.
Students were also able to share their experiences and took part in different activities.
In all the sessions, the resource persons urged students to set a goal based on ‘SMART’ (Specific, Measurable, Action-Oriented, Realistic and Time-Bound). Moreover, he asked the students to develop a good study habit to achieve the goal set. He asked them to be aware about ‘SWOT’ analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.)
Pyngrope also spoke about the importance of time management and the benefit of having a daily routine and a monthly routine.
The session on students of the 21st Century was a culmination point of learning for the students as they were made aware about the four important skills needed for students of the century the critical thinking-problem solving skill, communication skill, collaborative skill and creativity skill.
