In a bid to make it easier for farmers to sell their produce, the Hill Farmers Union (HFU) today opened an organic agriculture market at Khlieh Umstem in Bhoirymbong, Ri-Bhoi, yesterday.
The market was inaugurated by Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh in the presence of Fisheries Minister and local MLA, Dasakhiatbha Lamare.
The function was also attended by local MDC, RR Kharbuki, Block Development Officer, CJK Warjri, headmen and the leaders of the HFU.Villages under Raid Nongtung and Raid Iapngar will fall within the market’s catchment area.
