The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange alerts for three districts in Meghalaya on Wednesday.
East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills are likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning with heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated places. .
The rest of the state will be under a yellow alert (one level below orange).
Weather forecasts are fluid, however, and the IMD may change its advice when it issues a new update tomorrow.
Today, the area around Ratacherra in EJH witnessed the heaviest rainfall, of between 40-70mm.
