The Education Department has said that only online classes will be conducted for classes 1 to 12 in Shillong and Shillong urban agglomeration.
In a notification issued today, the department also said that offline classes will be conducted for the rest of the State.
The colleges and higher education institutions will design their own online mode of classes.
The elementary to higher secondary school teachers are to attend schools as per their roster duty to complete the tasks via online or by parental distribution at the school campus.
The deputy commissioners have been authorised to assess the risk locally and decide on reopening of schools either online or offline taking into consideration the Covid cases and in consultations with district health officials.
A task force committee headed by the respective deputy commissioner will be constituted to monitor the resumption and safe operation of schools.
In a separate notification, the department said that for classes 1 to 12, the academic session will be till March 12 this year. A 100 per cent syllabus will be followed for all levels and the assessment will be based on full syllabus, it added.
