Miscreants from across the border from Bangladesh killed one person while another managed to escape in the state’s East Jaintia Hills district today.
The victim had been identified as one Chiang Dkhar (50) of Umkiang, while Rahul Pohtam, resident of Lumsoski, managed to escape.
According to reports, the incident occurred this afternoon when a group of Bangladeshi miscreants attacked them in a betel nut plantation in Lumsoski a few kilometers from Umkiang.
Police and residents of Umkiang reached the area after learning of the incident, to take possession of the body of Dkhar.
