The office of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) Shillong in collaboration with Minotlang self-help group conducted a one day programme today to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose at Umpling.
The programme began with the garlanding of Bose’s photograph as a tribute and as a mark of gratitude to the contribution he made to India’s freedom struggle.
The resource person, Sony Lyngdoh, then delivered a lecture on the life journey, philosophy and work of Bose.
A quiz and essay writing competition based on the life of Bose were also held, with the youths from different parts of Shillong taking part in these activities.
