More than 6.34 lakh people have been affected due to weather-related events since April 1, 2022 in Meghalaya.
As per new data provided by the State Disaster Management Authority today, 940 villages and 6, 34,193 people have been affected in the state. This has also led to a total of 34 human deaths and 310 of animals.
Eleven persons went missing and a total of 22 people have also been reported injured.
The SDMA data also said incessant rains damaged 4,384 houses, 264 of them fully and 98 severely.
The State has also set up 31 relief camps with 4599 inmates. During the last 24 hours a total of 206 inmates are sheltered in a relief camp at Zikzak block in West Garo Hills.
About 12-15 hectares of crops was deemed to have been affected by the bad weather, according to the SDMA.
