As a gesture of goodwill, members of the Women’s Wing of the National People’s Party (NPP) visited AW Thomas Girls’ Home in Jaiaw Lumsyntiew here yesterday and distributed warm clothes to 45 children between the ages of six and 18.
NPP Women’s Wing state Secretary, M Basaiawmoit, extended her heartiest greetings on the occasion of Christmas and New Year to the girls in the home.
She also spoke about the strength and fortitude of the administration wing of the home and praised them for their ability to withstand all the difficulties that have come in their way, especially with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The institution is home to around 60 children and teaches them sewing, baking, music and cooking.
