Shillong, Feb 7: Over 300 members from various political parties from Tura and Garobadha joined the National People’s Party (NPP) today.
The joining ceremony, hosted by the NPP was held at Garobadha and attended by senior party leaders, including MLA Subir Marak, and others.
NPP Chief and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, welcomed the new members and urged them to work collectively for the greater cause of society. “As we march towards developing our state, we must propagate the message of unity and harmony,” he said.
Sangma emphasised the party’s commitment to fighting for the rights of indigenous people and assured the new members of his support in working together for the upcoming GHADC election.
