In a major blow to the National People’s party (NPP), Dipul R Marak, the State vice president today tendered his resignation from the party.
Marak in his resignation letter today cited personal reasons. However, sources said he is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) soon.
A founder and senior most member of the NPP, Marak was also the former CEM of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council and currently the co-chairman of the Meghalaya State Planning Board.
