Speaker of the Assembly and local MLA Metbah Lyngdoh today inaugurated the Nongthyllep Sub-Centre, a project that locals hope will serve them well.
Also present at the inauguration function were local MDC Batskhem Ryntathiang, Syiem of Hima Nongkhlaw PM Syiemlieh, Deputy Commissioner of Eastern West Khasi Hills District W Nongsiej, Superintendent of Police MB Syiem, other government officials, traditional heads, students and people of Nongthyllep village.
Lyngdoh congratulated health officials, community leaders and others whose support and cooperation has ensured the fruition of the sub-centre while also stating that the facility will bring healthcare services closer to the people of the area.
He used the occasion to call upon the people to avail the services of the sub-centre, especially in regards to maternal and child health and to come forward and take part in the various immunisation programmes organized by the Health Department. Other services available include institutional delivery of babies and screening of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
