Shillong, Nov 9: Nongstoiñ MLA Gabriel Wahlang said that he plans on creating coaching centres in his constituency to help local youth qualify for government jobs.
Wahlang said this during the inauguration of the new Dorbar Hall of Pyndengrei village, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.28 crore.
Work on the project began on October 2 last year. Also present on Saturday’s inauguration was the Sordar of Pyndengrei, M Marwein, office bearers of the local dorbar and residents.
Wahlang, a resident of Pyndengrei, highlighted the neighbourhood’s significance within Nongstoiñ town, stating that it has produced many prominent figures in various fields.
The MLA expressed his hope that the village will be able to produce more senior officers in various government departments. To achieve this, he announced his plan to set up coaching centres to train the youth of the village for competitive examinations like MCS, IAS, IPS, and others. As an MLA currently in the government, he pledged to work with the village as much as possible for the betterment of both the village and the constituency as a whole.
