Shillong, Dec 4: The Dorbar Shnong Nongmensong will conduct its annual cleaning drive on December 12.
All shops will remain closed and are directed to reopen after 2 pm.
The dorbar has also directed all vendors occupying the footpaths to vacate and clean their area.
For safety reasons and to ensure the cleaning drive goes smoothly all residents have been urged to refrain from using vehicles, except in cases of illness or emergency. However, movement of vehicles along the highway will not be restricted.
Motorists have been advised to exercise caution and drive slowly during the cleaning hours.
