The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) has decided not to hold the selection tests for students appearing for the SSLC and HSSLC examination due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation.
As per a notification released by the Education Department, MBoSE has decided to hold the board examinations in March-April next year.
“All schools, including the unaffiliated schools should note the same and should not conduct any selection test at their level. Similarly, no selection test should be conducted by the district education officials for SSLC and HSSLC examination, 2021,” the notification said.
As a one-time exemption all candidates who are willing to appear in the SSLC and HSSLC examination next year, but had failed in the selection test conducted in 2019 will be allowed to appear in the final examinations. The private candidates willing to appear for the same can appear directly in the final exam after following due procedure, it said.
“Cancellation of selection test and subsequent opportunity given to directly appear in the final SSLC and HSSLC examination 2021 is done as a one-time exception to ensure safety and health of all the stake holders in view of the prevailing covid-19 situation,” the department said.
