The Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) has not issued No Objection Certificate to any cement companies between October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
This was informed by Chief Executive Member Thombor Shiwat to a question raised by Jowai MDC Andrew A Shullai during the winter session which began and ended today.
Shullai had questioned on the proposed establishment of a Meghatop Cement factory in Wahiajer Narpuh, East Jaiñtia Hills.
During the session, members were also informed that the district council had collected revenue of Rs 54, 24,606 from markets from April 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
The government has paid to the JHADC an amount of Rs 86.63 crore as share from major minerals and Rs 28.94 crore as share from minor minerals. The shares that have not been paid by the government are around Rs 113 crore, the CEM said.
It was also informed that the revenue collected from forest check points in Ratacherra was Rs 9, 49, 160, Mookyndur Rs 28,94,850, Sunapur Rs 19, 96, 580, Lumkya Rs 26,000 and Garompani Rs 9000. The share received from the state Transport Department was Rs 8. 87 crore for the financial year 2023-2024.
