The Meghalaya government on Thursday decided to do away with the personal interviews for appointments to Group D jobs.
Minister and spokesperson of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Paul Lyngdoh told media persons after the Cabinet meeting that the proposed discontinuity for interview in Group D posts is in conformity with ensuring maximum transparency in the recruitment process to various posts beginning with Group D posts.
He said that this is also a part of compliance by the state of to instructions of the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Lyngdoh said that this will take effect with prospective effect from October 1, 2025.
“All such interviews that are scheduled from October 1, 2025 will be minus the need for the candidates to sit for personal interviews,” he said.
The MDA Spokesperson also said that this will help to speed up the government’s process of appointment and recruitment to various posts as well as ensure transparency and efficiency of the system.
