No load shedding planned for the state on Thursday, the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) announced.
In an announcement on social media, the MeECL said to lessen the inconvenience to the general public and considering the exam season and ensuing GHADC elections it has managed to arrange “costly power from the energy market.”
Stating that though its internal MePDGCL generation has fallen to the lowest, average of 35-40 MW the MeECL said, “…Because of extreme crisis we ramped up the average generation to 87.54 MW, at 7am on April 6 we even touched 188.59 MW which is dangerous and unsustainable.”
It also said that as both the unit shutdown in OTPC Palatana from April 7 to 14, the deficit has widened to 3.35MU out of the daily average demand of 6.1 MU.
