Shillong, Sep 2: The Meghalaya High Court today diposed of public interest litigation (PIL) to ascertain if there are any illegal religious structures constructed on government land.
A division bench of Chief Justice Chief Justice Indra Prasanna Mukerji and Justice Wanlura Diengdoh perused through a report filed by the State and accepted the report.
Additional Advocate General M. Khan told the court that there are no illegal religious structures in public places and that all illegal. He said all illegal or irregular structures or constructions in West Garo Hills district and East Garo Hills district have been duly regularised.
