The Khasi Students Union (KSU) Jowai Unit on Saturday held a program to honour the students who excelled in their SSLC and HSSLC examinations held at Vianney Hall, Marian Hills.
On this occasion, 30 male and female students received this award. All these students have achieved 80 percent marks in their examinations.
Speaking on the occasion, Pynkmenlang Sanmiet, Education Secretary said, “Since 2013, no indigenous students have passed the Civil Service examination from the state”.
He said that to achieve this goal one should work hard physically and spiritually.
He said that the purpose of this award is to encourage the students across the state to focus on their education.
Syngkon the guest of honour said that the students should concentrate and to improve themselves by reading books, to know General Knowledge and third to update from time to time on any new information.
Sunday Mannar, Officer in Charge of Jowai police station, urged the students to become the stars.
He cautioned the students to stay away from fraudulent activities on social media through their mobile phones.
