East Jaiñtia Hills Superintendent of Police, Deepak Kumar Palecha said that the blast at Soo Kilo was of very low-intensity.
Palecha told Highland Post that preliminary investigation at the site revealed that no digital devices were attached to the explosive except for nails and metal scraps.
He said a bomb squad from Shillong will submit a report and investigation is on.
Earlier, this afternoon, the banned outfit, Hynñiewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) claimed that it planted an IED that exploded at Soo Kilo under Sutnga Elaka in East Jaiñtia Hill on Thursday at around 2 am.
