The service delivery staff of the National Health Mission (NHM) have decided to cease work from July 4 in protest against rationalisation of remuneration.
“We have just two simple demands, one of our demand is that none of our SD cadres salary should be reduced and the second one is that the MD office should redo the final approved draft taking into consideration the current increasing cost of daily living,” a statement from the delivery staff today said.
According to the staff, the final draft of the rationalisation was released without proper calculation and satisfactory clarification and their feedbacks, which was submitted were not taken into consideration
The staff said that the drastic pay cut from selected cadres can be seen in the final draft and no correction were made from the first to the third draft and no proper guidance note and grading system were followed.
“With the current inflation rate in the county, the final draft has put a lot of physical, mental and financial trauma to us,” the staff added.
Under the process of rationalisation, the NHM aims to correct the disparities in remuneration of all staff by categorising the respective staff under 15 categories with respective basic pay. Staff under each category will receive the 5 per cent yearly increment against the years of service under NHM.
