Nongpoh, April 9: In a move to strengthen healthcare services in Ri-Bhoi district, the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) handed over an ambulance to the district administration under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The ambulance was formally flagged off by Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Jonathan Shylla, District Medical & Health Officer Dr. A.R. Marak, NHIDCL General Manager (P) Kunal Barua, and other officials.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the support came in response to a request made by the district administration to NHIDCL, which is actively involved in infrastructure development projects across the state. He added that as an Aspirational District, Ri-Bhoi requires such support to further improve public healthcare facilities.
The ambulance has been handed over to the Health Department under the District Medical & Health Officer (DMHO) for operation and will be stationed at the State Dispensary in Umiam to ensure timely medical assistance to the public.
