The district level science, mathematics and environment exhibition was held for the students of North Garo Hills today at Dekachang Community Hall, Resubelpara.
Six schools of the district showcased and explained their models based on the theme ‘Science & Technology for Society’ wherein St Thomas Higher Secondary School, Mendipathar was adjudged the best model and selected to represent the district at the state level exhibition.
Addressing the cohort of students as the chief guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tennystar Marak pressed upon them to have a sound understanding of science and mathematics and try to solve local problems through their applications.
The exhibition was organised by the District School Education Officer and aimed to ignite scientific temperament in the minds of the students by enabling them to solve daily problems through the application of science, mathematics and environment.
Fourth position holder in the recently announced MBOSE SSLC 2024 results, Wanma Sangma of St Thomas HSS, was felicitated for her achievement during the programme and interacted with her fellow students where she shared her success mantra.
Among other dignitaries present during the programme were the Principal of St Thomas HSS Sis Lalita Lakra, Resubelpara’s DSEO Samar Dey and SDSEO WG Momin.
