Covid-19 vaccination for those members of the public above 60 years old and people between 45 and 59 who have co-morbidities began in East Khasi Hills yesterday at notified sites.
The government health institutions notified are Shillong Civil Hospital, Ganesh Das Government Maternal and Child Health Hospital, North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institutes of Health and Medical Sciences, Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Meghalaya Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science, Composite Hospital BSF, Unit Hosp 67BN CRPF and BSF Sec Hospital, Mawpat. The Primary Health Centres (PHCs) are in Khatarshnong Khrang, Laitlyngkot, Laitryngew, Swer, Mawkynrew, Jatah, Jongksha, Mawsiatkhnam, Mawroh, Nongspung, Mawphlang, Smit, Mawryngkneng, Diengpasoh, Ryngku, Dangar, Pomlum, Wahsherkhmut, Pongtung, Mawkliaw, Mawlong, Sohbar, Laitkynsew, Shella, Mawsahew, Diengiei and Weilyngkut. The Community Health Centres (CHCs) are in Mawiong, Mawsynram, Pynursla, Ichamati, Sohra and Sohiong, while State Dispensaries at Rynjah and Laban will also provide the vaccine.
Vaccination will also be provided in private hospitals: Nazareth Hospital, Bethany Hospital, Dr H Gordon Robert Hospital, Supercare Hospital and Woodland Hospital, all in Shillong.
For Covid-19 vaccine registration, online self-registration can be carried out through the Co-Win website, through health centres, ASHAs, AWWs, Rangbah Shnong, Headman and also walk-in registration in the notified session sites.
Vaccination will be provided free of charge at government health centres but will cost Rs 250 at the private facilities.
