The Meghalaya State Pollution Board organised an orientation program for newly recruited officials, aiming to familiarise them with the board’s functions in preventing and controlling pollution.
The program, held at the board’s office, featured talks by senior officials, including Senior Environmental Engineer W.R. Kharkrang.
Topics covered included the board’s overview, engineering branch duties, field inspection procedures, consent management, plastics act and rules, and scientific branch functions.
The orientation program follows the successful recruitment of new officials, who cleared written and personal interviews.
