A Ramakrishna Mission School was officially inaugurated on Saturday in Raid Thaiang in Ri-Bhoi.
The institution has been established through the effort of Ramakrishna Mission and aims to uplift educational standards in remote villages.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by cabinet minister Alexander Laloo Hek. He was accompanied by Swami Anuragananda, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sohra; Evarist Myrsing, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secretary and school patron; Nikhos Syiem, the Syiem of Raid Thaiang; Tolbin Umbah, headman of Mawtari Thaiang; and several other dignitaries, elders and local residents.
In his address as chief guest, Hek expressed deep satisfaction and joy over the establishment of the new Ramakrishna Mission School.
Hek encouraged continued cooperation to further enhance and strengthen the school, expressing hope that, in the years to come, it would emerge as a leading centre of learning in the area.
