The Wapung circle of the Jaiñtia National Council (JNC) swore in its new office bearers at a meeting held in Kong-ong, East Jaiñtia Hills, on Saturday.
The oath taking ceremony for the new leaders was led by JNC president Sambormi Lyngdoh in the presence of general secretary Wanshwa Suting and other senior members.
Addressing the gathering, Lyngdoh said that Wapung has produced good and brave leaders in the past. He also congratulated the new body and encouraged them to work for the society.
The president of the JNC Wapung circle is Kynmaw Phawa, vice-president Dister Dkhar, general secretary Ebormi Dkhar and assistant secretary Rakes Dkhar, among others.
