New containment orders have been issued by the District Magistrates of East Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
In East Khasi Hills, 25 active cases have been detected in the Mawphlang area and to conduct requisite house-to-house testing, the whole village of Madan Mawser and Phanniewlah Neng as containment areas.
In West Garo Hills, nine Covid-19 cases were detected in the Brahminpara neighbourhood of Tura. As a result, the houses of Dev Raj Newar and Chandra Ghatani have been declared as micro-containment zones in order to restrict unregulated entry and exit.
