Casual workers employed by North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) at Umsaw, Ri-Bhoi, have threatened to go on strike if their pending salaries are not released to them before December 20.
Speaking to Highland Post, the casual workers said that they have written to the Director of NEPA, Deepak Kumar, on the issue but have not received a response; they have not been paid for four months.
Informing that they have also sought permission from the Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi to stage a protest, the workers said that they will be forced to agitate if NEPA does not pay heed to their demand.
