The NEIPF Meghalaya Chapter on September 5 held a meeting in Guwahati in the presence of NEIPF chairman Anup Chetia and Banteidor Lyngdoh, Minister Government of Meghalaya.
The NEIPF Meghalaya Chapter was represented by its convener Wellbirth Rani, secretary Sadon K. Blah and members from the FKJGP, HNYF, and RBYF.
The discourse of the meeting was to strengthen the socio-economic and political platform of the indigenous people by pooling in resources from amongst the indigenous people of North East, discussion was held on the need for a closer economic cooperation amongst the indigenous people of North East India from border trade to national and international trade.
Discussion was also held on the need of political assertion and political rights of the indigenous people so that we can retain our political destiny. In this context discussion was held on the need to implement NRC in the whole of North East India and also a reflection on the non materialisation of NRC exercise in Assam.
