NEIGRIHMS, in collaboration with Sun Pharma Science Foundation, conducted a workshop on ‘Methods of Dissection of Risk of a Complex Disease’ on July 2-5.
The four-day workshop brought together some of the nation’s most respected voices in genomics, biostatistics and epidemiology and served as an interdisciplinary platform for early-career researchers and medical professionals from across the North Eastern region, a press release stated today.
In his address NEIGRIHMS Director Dr Nalin Mehta hoped that clinicians get insights into genetic predisposition, environmental influences, lifestyle factors and their interactions in causing these diseases during the workshop.
Speakers included Prof Narendra Kumar Arora, Executive Director of The INCLEN Trust, geneticist Prof Partha Majumder from the John C Martin Centre for Liver Research and Innovation and Indian Statistical Institute, Dr Ankita Chatterjee, from the same institute, Prof Sharmila Sengupta and Prof Raghunath Chatterjee.
