The Legal Care and Support Centre of the Department of Law at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) organised a legal awareness programme at Mawkynroh, Umshing on Friday.
During the programme, important information relating to the rights of women and children, cyber security, child labour, etc was disseminated by the students of the department under the guidance of Professor JJ Mozika, who is in charge of the centre.
Mozika also delivered a speech on the provisions of free legal aid under the Constitution and informed people about the free services available in the Legal Care and Support Centre of the university.
The programme was attended by prominent members of the Dorbar Shnong of Mawkynroh, Umshing.
