The Inter College Men’s Cricket Tournament, organised by North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) began here today.
N Das, Assistant Director of PE and Sports at NEHU and organising secretary of the tournament, was present during the opening ceremony.
The first match of the day was played between NEIAH Shillong and Synod College. After winning the toss, Synod College opted to bowl first and NEIAH made 155 all out in 20 overs. Synod College were then dismissed for 92, giving NEIAH victory by 63 runs.
Later, St Anthony’s College won the toss and batted first, making 175/5 in their 20 overs. They then bundled out Shillong Law College for a mere 76 to win by a big 99-run margin.
Tomorrow, BBS College will take on St Edmund’s College in the first match, followed by NEHU Shillong against Umshyrpi College in the second.
