The sports department of the North-Eastern Hill University today organized the 1st NEHU Half Marathon 2021 & Fun Run within the NEHU Campus, Shillong under the ‘Fit India Campaign’ of the Government of India.
The event was organized in collaboration with the State Bank of India, NEHU Branch, Shillong.
Both the events were flag off by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong Prof. H. Lamin.
Others present at the occasion include the Vice-Chancellor of the North-Eastern Hill University Prof S. K. Srivastava, the Chief Manager, State Bank of India, NEHU Branch Anindya. Deb, the Registrar of the North-Eastern Hill University Dr. J.N.Nayak, Dean of Students Welfare cum Teacher In-charge, Sports Department Prof. S. Umdor, and Assistant Director (Physical Education), NEHU cum Organising Secretary of the event who also give away the cash prizes, mementos to the winners and also finishers’ medals to all participants.
The position holders NEHU Half Marathon 2021 (Women) include Kyntimon Marwein, Claire Jones Kharbih, and Darishisha Iangjuh while the winners in the men’s category include Kressterjune Pathaw, Hepstarly Lyngkhoi and Daniel Lyngdoh Wahlang.
The position holders in the Fun Run (Women) include Didakamiwan Khonglah, Sumitra Bhattarai, and Sanhika Umdor while the men include Dapmain Rani, Dr. Atul Kumar, and Alo Rabha.
