The All NEHU Workers’ Union (ANWU) has temporarily withdrawn its silent protest after an assurance from the Vice Chancellor to consider their demands.
In a statement today, the casual workers also said that the protest has affected the day to day works in the university and its reputation and decided to withhold their protest with a sense of responsibility towards the betterment of the university.
The union said that the Vice Chancellor during a meeting on August 17 had said that the university will explore all the possibility of how to adjust the period of absence in the next two or three months in a very positive way on
“The union have faith and confidence on the assurance given by the Vice Chancellor on the said meeting with regards to the detail status report of our demands like implementation of regularisation, equal pay for equal work, overtime allowance etc,” ANWU added.
