A five-day training programme on “Agarbatti, Dhoopbatti, Hawansamgri & Perfumery” is underway at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sohra, which will conclude on July 3.
The training programme is being organised by the North East Center for Technology and Reach (NECTAR) in collaboration with Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj.
The objective of the programme, which began yesterday, is to highlight the basics of raw materials used in agarbatti, dhoopbatti, havansamagri and perfumery with incorporation of fragrances as well as practical demonstration of manufacturing of agarbatti.
It is expected to benefit the local people of the region in providing livelihood activities through its huge bamboo resources easily available in the area.
The programme was inaugurated by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Assistant Secretary, Swami Tarananda and NECTAR structure designer, Lyngksiar N. Khongwir moderated the programme.
