The Meghalaya contingent, led by Bobby Wahlang, Youth Coordinator of Meghalaya, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, returned home after a triumphant performance at the 7th North East Youth Festival held in Agartala, Tripura.
The festival, held from February 26 to 29, witnessed vibrant cultural exchanges and competitions among young people from across the Northeast region.
Seventy-six young individuals from 11 districts left their mark on the festival, demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication and secured a well-deserved victory in the Rock Band category, showcasing their musical prowess and stage presence.
The contingent also secured an impressive set of first runner-up positions in Folk Dance, Folk Song, One Act Play, Painting, Photography, and Solo Guitar.
The participants at the festival were winners in the Meghalaya Youth Exchange Program 2023 in their respective categories, which took place at Nehu Campus from October 17 to 20, 2023.
The festival witnessed the attendance of the Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Tinku Roy, amongst others.
