Major General Bhaskar Kalita, Additional Director General, North East Region Directorate, met Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today, and discussed various National Cadet Corps issues with him.
Manipur NCC cadets have been winning in all NCC competitions in the North East region, the ADG told the CM, and he was extremely appreciative of their conduct and performance.
Singh asked the ADG to consider releasing more NCC vacancies for Manipur, especially for the border area districts. The ADG assured the Hon’ble Chief Minister that the NCC Group Imphal will coordinate the matter with the State Education Department, including posting of deficient Civilian Staff to NCC, and requested the Hon’ble Chief Minister to kindly continue his support for NCC in the State.
The ADG also took the opportunity to present Singh with an NCC alumni asso ciation membership card as the CM is an ex-NCC cadet.
Maj Gen Kalita then met the Education Minister and discussed important NCC-related issues, especially inclusion of NCC as an elective subject in colleges, border area expansion and posting of deficient civilian staff, etc.
The ADG then addressed NCC staff and cadets at group headquarters and told the gathering that he is extremely happy with the performance of the state’s cadets, who have won three North East Region NCC Inter Group Competitions in the past three months.
