NCC Cadets of 41 Meghalaya Battalion NCC under the aegis of NCC Group Shillong carried out social service activity at Tikrikilla in West Garo hills district.
An awareness rally about cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation, saving girl child, tree plantation and encouraging the youth to play games were part of the activity.
A football ground and volleyball court were also dedicated to the youth of Tikrikila College and Pragatipur Secondary School respectively with all the accessories like football goalposts, footballs, volleyball poles, nets, volleyballs, air pumps, face masks and sanitizers. He also stressed on Covid appropriate behaviour.
Principal of Tikrikila College, M. A. Sangma, Commanding Officer of 41 Meghalaya Battalion NCC, Colonel Jitendra Kumar, Capt. S. Kundu, Associate NCC Officer, Jatan Rabha Care Taker Officers of the College, Head Master of Pragatipur Secondary School, Subhash Paul, In-Charge Scout and Guide of the school also participated in the programme.
The programme culminated with NCC song and distribution of NCC C certificates to senior cadets who have completed their NCC tenure.
