Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy passed away in Kohima on Thursday at the age of 57 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by wife, 2 sons and 2 daughters.
Toy was a 1989 batch of IAS from Nagaland and had served the government in various capacities.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Raj Bhavan tweeted, “Extremely sad and shocked to know that Shri @temjentoy is no more with us. We lost an able administrator and one of the finest human beings! May his soul rest in peace. May God give strength to his family to bear with this devastating tragedy”.
Also mourning the demise of the chief secretary, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio said that Temjen Toy’s death is a huge loss for the Government of Nagaland and for the Nagas as a whole.
Neiphiu Rio tweeted: “I am extremely saddened at the passing away of @temjentoy, Chief Secretary of Nagaland. He was a humble, upright and dedicated government servant. His death is a huge loss for the Govt. of Nagaland & for the Nagas as a whole. Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul RIP.”
Mourning the demise of Toy, Nagaland deputy chief minister Y Patton said that it is “an irreparable loss!”
The deputy chief minister tweeted, “The news of the untimely demise of Shri Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary, Nagaland has shocked and shattered us all. This is a very unfortunate day for us. We’ve lost an absolute gem. My deepest condolences to his family and dear ones. May his soul rest in peace!.” (NNN)
