A book authored by former deputy chief minister, Rowell Lyngdoh titled ‘My Journey’ was released yesterday.
Lyngdoh passed away in March this year. He was among the first to be elected as MLA after Meghalaya got its statehood in 1972. He represented the Mawkyrwat constituency in South West Khasi Hills district till 2018.
He also served as Chief Executive Member of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) from April 4, 1992 to March 1, 1993.He was a former legislators of the state who got elected as member of the first Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 1972, the first Assembly elections conducted after Meghalaya became a full-fledged state.
Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council CEM, Titostarwell Chyne, who attended the release function held at Upper Lumpyngngad said “Everyone knows Late Rowell and his life and for those who have not known him will get to know more about him through this book.”
Chyne added that it is not all about knowing who is man is, but for the future generation and the youth to follow his example.
The book was released in the presence of the president of the Khasi Author Society (KAS), Dr. D.R.L. Nonglait, Rev R. G. Laloo, members of the KAS and the others.
